I'm delighted to announce that Grant McDonald has agreed to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer of Pivotas Canada Ltd. Grant brings decades of senior deal experience in the defence industry and deep relationships across the Canadian federal government. He is also a shareholder of Pivotas AG.
Background
Grant was a head partner at KPMG, where he was responsible for major acquisitions and transactions for defence-industry OEMs in Canada, Europe and the United States. He worked at KPMG's most senior levels and has led work alongside senior federal officials, including on NORAD Modernization.
At Pivotas, Grant has been deeply involved in shaping the military investment strategy for the Canadian defence financing platform with Blackstone and Apollo.
What Grant brings to the table
The platform's investment strategy. Grant has already helped build the military investment strategy with Blackstone and Apollo. He leads Pivotas Canada with a full command of the platform from day one.
Defence-sector deal leadership. He has led major acquisitions and transactions for defence OEMs on both sides of the Atlantic. He knows how these companies think, buy and grow, which is the core of our client work.
Government relationships. His long-standing relationships at the most senior levels of the federal public service are directly relevant to the platform and to our Canadian mandates.
Three-market perspective. His work across Canada, Europe and the US matches our mandate of helping defence companies expand between Europe and Canada.
Big-firm discipline. Years at the top of KPMG bring rigour in diligence, structuring and execution to every mandate we run.
Shareholder commitment. As a shareholder of Pivotas AG, Grant has a direct stake in the group's success.
His role at Pivotas
As CEO of Pivotas Canada, Grant will lead our Canadian business, reporting to the Pivotas Canada board, which I chair. He will continue to drive the military investment strategy for the platform with Blackstone and Apollo, and lead our work with Canadian government partners and defence clients.
